Owning an Affordable Piece of Paradise

Hawaii is a seriously beautiful place. Even more so when you don’t live here and it's minus 10 degrees back home! Hawaii's weather is temperate year round, the water hovers between 75 and 80 degrees and you can live outdoors from January through December. The people are genuine and friendly and Hawaii is still part of the United States!

I often meet buyers who are interested in visiting Honolulu on a more regular basis. Several of them want to own a piece of paradise they can use when visiting, and rent out when they’re not here.

Condo/Hotels are popular with vacationers looking to spend more time in Honolulu.

Selling and Buying a Home Simultaneously - We Can Help!

Are you already a homeowner but now find yourself desiring more room, more yard, just more space!? Well in this highly competitive and active Hawaii real estate market, being on your "A" game is essential, especially if you need to sell before you purchase.

Many homeowners find simultaneously selling and buying very frustrating, essentially putting the cart before the horse. This type of process is an "art" and I’ve successfully worked with many clients looking to simultaneously sell their home while at the same time, buy their next home.

Finding the Perfect Property in a Competitive Market

The real estate market on Oahu is very competitive. In 2013, 30 percent of the homes that sold went for more than the asking price. That is an all-time high for Oahu. So what’s a buyer to do? Working with a professional agent who knows the market is key to getting the property that you want, and buyers have to be smart and fast about making an offer on the home they want.

Get Preapproved

Last year I worked with clients who just moved here from the mainland. They wanted a two bedroom and two parking stall condo in a pet friendly building. Before we began looking at condos, they made sure they were preapproved, with the bank letter in hand. Preapproval does two things. It shows the buyers you are serious and ready to move forward quickly, and it helps you and your REALTOR® look for properties in your price range. Not having a preapproval letter can get your offer placed at the bottom of the pile because the seller can’t be sure that you won’t run into financing issues further into the deal.
