Locations Foundation Volunteers Refresh Elementary School Grounds

On a sunny Saturday in April, 25 members of the Locations Foundation teamed up with the non-profit organization Hawaii 3Rs with the shared goal of making a difference in the lives of students and faculty at Mayor John H. Wilson Elementary School in Honolulu.

Armed with brushes and rollers, volunteers freshened up curbs in the school's parking lot and corridors with bright white, blue, red and yellow paint.

Supporting education in communities across Hawaii is one of the four pillars of the Locations Foundation, so teaming up with Hawaii 3Rs, whose mission is: "Repairing, Remodeling and Restoring Our Schools," was a natural fit.

"It's our hope that this beautification project not only serves to improve the physical appearance of Wilson Elementary, but that it also helps to instill a sense of pride in students and faculty," said Foundation President Kristin Mukai. "By partnering with local organizations like Hawaii 3Rs, Locations Foundation volunteers are helping to create a welcoming learning environment for our keiki."
