Waimanalo Country Farms Pumpkin Patch

9 a.m. – 5 p.m.| Oct. 5 – 27, Saturdays and Sundays

Pick a pumpkin, go for a hayride around the farm and enjoy ono fresh-squeezed lemonade while the keiki play in the Lil' Rascal Zone and Animal Farm. Stop by the Country Market on your way out to pick up home-made cornbread, fresh watermelon and more. New this year are Rustic Fall Nights, an after-dark special events on Saturday nights. Parking and admission are free.

19th Annual Great Kapolei Pumpkin Picking Patch

8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Oct. 12 – 27, Saturdays and Sundays

This family-friendly pumpkin-picking festival features free hayrides, pony rides, farm-style food, photos booths, music, games and more! Don't forget to pack sunscreen, water and cash (checks and credit cards not accepted). Free parking. $3 admission fee (Children 2 years old and younger are free).

The Great Pumpkin Festival

Keiki can enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the park, watch an underwater pumpkin carving competition in Shark's Cave, meet Poseidon, join in a Monster Mash Bash costume contest for a chance to win prizes and more! Admission is $13.01 (10/31 backwards) beginning at noon.

Boo at the Zoo

Costumed keiki can trick-or-treat along the Trick-or-Treat Trail, enjoy keiki crafts and stories, and check out two haunted houses. Admission is $10 for zoo members and $15 for non-members.

Keiki in the Kitchen Family Sunday

'Cake Boss' Buddy Valastro will lead Halloween-themed cupcake decorating sessions for 400 keiki. Children can then make their way down “Treat Street” for safe trick-or-treating and participate in fun fitness challenges Tickets are $10 (advanced sign up required).

Hawaii State Public Libraries will host a variety of kid-friendly Halloween-themed events throughout the month of October. Events include costume workshops, spooky stories, trick-or-treating, crafts, movies and more.

Scary Fun for Teens and Grown-ups


Mutant Massacre

7 - 10 p.m. | Oct. 18-20, 25-27 & 30-31

Skeleton Key Hawaii and actor Jorge Garcia (Hawaii Five-0, Lost) return to Kailua this month with an all-new frightfully themed haunted house, Mutant Massacre. Like last year, all proceeds will go toward the nonprofit Kailua Onstage Arts Theatre (KOA Theatre). Admission is $15 or $20 for a Fast Pass. Group and military discounts are available.

Haunted Plantation

7 - 11 p.m.| Oct. 11-13, 18-20, 25-27 & 31

Named "Hawaii's Scariest & Best Haunt" and one of the "10 Most Horrifying Haunted Houses in the U.S.," the Haunted Plantation features 19 haunted houses and more than 60 actors. Be warned: This one isn't for the faint of heart, and parking is limited.
