Wai'anae

From Nanakuli to Makua, the Wai‘anae coast stretches for 13 miles, encompassing beautiful beaches and breathtaking valleys. Offering an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life, the Wai‘anae area is rich in cultural history and close-knit community living.

Overview

According to ancient Hawaiian legend, it’s here on Oahu that the demigod Maui called home. Further along the Wai‘anae coast, at the western most tip of O‘ahu, is Ka‘ena Point, a sacred spot along the Wai‘anae Coast and home to albatrosses and hiking trails.

With a mix of single-family homes, condos and Hawaiian Home Lands properties, this area has experienced an overall increase in home values. Popular attractions along the Wai‘anae Coast include Ka‘ena State Park, Ka‘ala hiking trail, Poka‘i Bay Beach Park and, for fishermen, the Wai‘anae Boat Harbor.
